networking for expatriate partners

Hello,

This month, next to my monthly newsletter, I also wrote an article about networking for expatriate partners in which I speak about bebe.ch
If you wish you can read it here:
www.job4u2.ch/pdf/job4U2_Networking_for_expatriate_ partners.pdf
As a matter of fact when I arrived in Switzerland 5 years ago, I found an incredible amount of information, tips, advice and even some friends on this Forum :-)
I am now wondering if we could form a kind of Bebe.ch Moms Welcome Comity to help young mothers and fathers when they arrive here.

I would like to ask you who would be interested to volunteer to provide this first welcome support?
If this idea is inspiring many of us, I would then create a subcategory called “Moms welcome comity” or something in that direction.
I would love to read all your comments and reactions!
Kind regards,

Sandrine

I think that there are already some website for expatriate in switzerland like glocals where everything is in english.

I hope that the expatriate moms living in switzerland will try to learn french reading posts on this website and won't exclude themself creating a group only for them.

It is only my opinion...

I agree that it is indeed best to learn the language, it makes everything easier but to get organized before departure or as you arrive, it is great to meet a group of friendly open minded people who are happy to welcome and help you.
I will tell 2 words about my experience:
I was leaving in Brussels when we accepted to move to Switzerland for my husband job, I was pregnant and had therefore to organize everything very quickly: Gynecologic, pediatrician for my oldest daughter, Health insurance, etc etc.
On the Bebe.ch Forum I found moms living in my region who had been ( or were )going thought the same process and they helped me a lot.
After, when something bad happened and I had to stop my pregnancy while moving in a new country, I was very glad I did not have to wait until I could speak the local language to be able to speak about it and find some support on the forum....
Yes, If I would have been a English speaking mom, I could have been on all the glocals, Englishforum.ch and the others but in some cases, you need to speak with people who can really relate to you, other mothers who understand how you feel, and this I have only met on Bebe.ch…
I am very curious about what other moms think about the discussion!
