English-speaking mothers-to-be in Geneva?

Hello!
I'm a swiss mother to be living in Vernier. My husband is american. I would like to meet english speaking moms (or moms to be) so that we could have play dates once my little one shows up! I'm due in january!

I am also looking for someone who would like to do an "exchange" starting in september! I would take care of your child one day per week(and speak french) and you would take care of mine one day a week and speak only english! If you know anybody who could be interested, please, let me know!

Talk to you soon!

How are you? it has been a while, where have you been hiding!!!?

A net friend just forwarded me your post and I funny enough I have been looking for the same thing. Since I speak mainly English to my older child, I would like my future baby to be bilingual as well. I wish that the baby would be exposed to English outside of the family setting. Anyway I am very interested in your offer, and if you wish I could look up and share some addresses that I found of English play groups in Geneva.

Take care of yourself and hope to hear from you soon,

Ladybil

Hello!
We've corresponded before and I think you live not to far from me! So, we are both looking for the same idea!
I've heard about something in Ferney Voltaire in English for babies but forgot the name of it. I'll ask again.
I'm looking for a mom to "exchange" our children for a day per week since I will go back to work in september for 2 days a week. One day with the dad hopefully and another one with an english speaking mom...! That's my dream:) We will see if it works out!
Do you know of any english speaking forums (expat in Geneva maybe)?
A bientôt

I have looked up these kind of forums for months without any success. I have the address for that Group in Ferney also and I have another one near Grange Canal if the spelling is right. But there,it is compulsory for an adult to participate with the child. It is called the Kiddy Club. I really hope it works out :). Let's keep in touch and perhaps meet one of these days (while we are still mobile lol), does that sound like a plan?

I hope that you have finally settled,

Take good care of "yourselves"

Hi girls,

What a great idea with baby care exchange- I was thinking about something like that as well.
I am now 6 months pregnant, due on February and I don't know many pregnant girls in Gva so would be happy to stay in touch with you.
We speak English at home as this is the only language my housband speaks (so far.. ) . For our baby it will be one of the languages from the begining.

Are u planning to have any preparation classes? I just found some in English - we will do it in December (2 Sat afternoons) , maybe somebody is interested to join - I can share more details.

if you are looking to join a English speaking community in Geneva I can reccomend a website glocals.com - I am a member there as joannaa so you can find me.

cheers
Joanna

Hello!
We already did our preparation classes but it would be nice to meet you and ladybil for a tea one day!
Do you work? Where do you live?

English is not my mother tongue language either... but i used to speak quite well... a long time ago :-) Starting to speak english again would be great (if you don't mind my mistakes).

maybe tomorrow??

Hello ladies!

I am 31, American, pregnant with BB1 due in July. Still a ways to go! My husband is French and we moved to Switzerland 3 months ago. We live in Avully, close to Geneva. I stopped working to move here and with the recent events it looks like my unemployed situation will continue! So my schedule is very open :)

I would be very interested in meeting other moms to be near Geneva.

Please let me know if you organize anything! :)

Sarah
